Cirkids

For over 25 years, CircusWest has been offering children an opportunity to explore Circus Arts in an
encouraging, non-competitive environment. CircusWest allows Vancouver area students to develop life
skills, encourage respect for oneself and others and to learn responsible risk-taking. We welcome
children in to a safe collegial atmosphere where their co-learners are team mates and friends. We allow
students to work to their own level and to direct their learning experience with gentle, respectful
coaching.

Benefits of participating in circus arts include:
  • Improved self esteem and confidence
  • Life skill development
  • A positive approach to physical activity
  • Physical fitness – increased muscle and core strength, flexibility, coordination, balance and general physical literacy
  • A positive experience of the arts
  • Good community relations
  • Improved communication skills with peers
  • Increased skills in creative expression

Daytime programming includes:

Lions - Wednesday at 1pm for 5 & 6 year olds
Tigers - Wednesday at 1pm for 6 & 7 year olds
Ringmasters - Wednesday at 1pm for ages 8 and up

CircusWest offers daytime classes for home learners where students can practice all aspects of Circus
Arts. Tuition for the classes is tax-deductable and low-income families are eligible to apply for a bursary.
