Homelearner Camps - Bonsor
All camps have a 6-8 year and a 9-14 year component that runs at the same time but in alternate rooms. Because of legislative changes at the provincial level we can now allow 5 year olds into the camp if they have an older sibling registered, but ONLY if they turn 6 by Dec. 31, 2016.
*We need a combined minimum of 18 students registered in the camp for it to run. One week before the camp starts we make the decision as to whether we will be running the camp – register early so that you are not disappointed*
6-8 year olds
(5 year olds may register if they have an older sibling in one of the two camps and they turn 6 by Dec. 31). An afternoon of jam-packed fun! First it’s games in the gym: from cooperative games to volleyball, from blob tag to basketball, they can try them all! Children play and have fun while honing their skills and brushing up on the rules. Then it’s upstairs for arts--whether it’s visual, ceramic, literary, theatrical, musical or dance, we have an excellent team of instructors and a wonderfully stocked arts room.
- Games/Clayworks Students work with clay to create everything from sculpture to functional art such as plates and bowls. Atty Gell encourages children to be creative and to work independently to explore the medium. Clay projects will be glazed and fired in our kiln Tuesdays $78.00, 5 sessions Nov. 8 – Dec. 6 Bar Code: 417858 12:45-3:25pm
- Games/Drawing & Watercolours Students learn about line, form, texture, composition and colour theory as they explore the versatility of drawing and watercolour technique in a relaxed and supportive environment. Tuesdays $78.70, 5 sessions Jan. 10 – Feb. 7 Bar Code: 418012 12:45-3:25pm
- Games/Cartooning & Comics Students dive into the world of comics to illustrate their own short story. $78.70, 5 sessions Feb. 21 – April 4 Bar Code: 418013 12:45-3:25pm (No classes March 14 & 21 because of spring break classes running in the centre)
