When: Mondays 10 am - 1 pm, for 6 weeks each. Who's it for: ages 11-18 Where: At the Purple Thistle Centre (location below) Dates: Session one: October 1- November 5 Session two: November 12 - December 17 How much: $ 100.00* for each 6 week session In this dynamic and collaborative 6 week class, the participants will use theatre games and exercises, improvs and written work (self generated as well as existing material) to explore the process of acting. This will be a fun and physical class with the emphasis on team work and collective creation. The week will culminate in a demonstration of some of the work. This class is open to all skill levels. Please dress in clothing that can get dirty. Session Two: Clown and Mask: $100.00 In this 6 week session we will explore mask and clown work. Participants will make their own mask and learn how to "present it". Using physical exercises, observation and written work (self generated as well as existing material) the group will explore ways of creating and building clown and mask characters. This will be a fun and intense six weeks of collaborative creation, culminating in a showcase of the work. The class is open to all levels of experience. She is also an actor, a writer and a street performer of larger than life comedy characters. She is one of the creators of the award winning, internationally acclaimed shows Mom's The Word, Mom's The Word: Unhinged and Mom's The Word: Remixed.
