Students learn and use higher level thinking skills in a variety of atypical topic areas. Emphasis is on critical and creative thinking skills, problem solving and interpersonal skills where a major focus is on the process of learning. Programs include Creative Problem Solving, Forensics, Masks, Photography, Lego and more. They are designed for high ability/high interest elementary age students in mind but are beneficial for all students. Sessions do not involve reading or writing and are all hands-on learning. All sessions are taught by Nancy Greenall who has been teaching thinking skills and gifted education at Mundy Road Challenge Center in Coquitlam for over 23 years. Think Tank is located in Maple Ridge.
Sessions taught at another location is a possibility. I realize this is the middle of summer and only a few of us are thinking about what will happen in the Fall. (In fact, many of us are still waiting for the real summer to arrive!) But I wanted to get this out to you early so you have a chance to do consider the sessions as you make your Fall plans. Sessions I will be teaching on Thursdays include: Photography, Art and Technology and Advanced Lego. I am also excited to inform you that Think Tank will be offering two sessions on Tuesdays. Pop Art painting for older students and teens will be taught by Bekah Aitchison, a professional artist. Lisa Rae Simons, a professional musician, will be offering Music and Beyond for children ages 3 - 5 as well. For more details about the classes please refer to the ThinkTank Fall Program included as an attachment. It is also included below. If you have any questions please give me a call or drop me an email and I will get back to you as soon as I can. ( We will be holidaying at various times during August but I will get back to you as soon as possible.) Please note the date for early registration discounts for those who have sent in their Registration Form and payment, is August 25. Please see the attachment, or below, to discover other discount options. I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with your children as we expand our minds, be creative and meet new friends... serious play...beyond imagining! -- Nancy Greenall Think Tank Challenge Center THINK TANK Winter 2013 Sessions Dates: Thursdays, January 17, 2013 – March 7, 2013 (8 sessions)
