The Lego Robotics homelearners will be available again this fall at West Vancouver aquatic centre. Students who have attended previously will continue where they left off. The course # 839368 on Tuesdays again from 1 - 2:30 from Sept 25 to Dec 18th, 2013. The cost is $192. You can go to westvancouver.ca or call 604-925-7270 to register, or just stop by the rec centre. This class will be held at West Vancouver Aquatic Centre. Recommended ages 6 - 14. Child can explore at his/her own pace. It's a small group, great environment, and good fun. Here are the class descriptions from the Leisure Guide: Design: LEGO ® Beginner Level Simple Machines I Imagine, discover, create and build, using LEGO® Education kits. The program is designed as a progression of skills. Explore basic simple machine principals, such as gears, levers, pulleys and wheel and axles. Building such things as drills, windmills, hand wavers, zip lines, cranes, universal joints, cars, dentist chairs, and much more! No previous experience is necessary. Design: LEGO ® Intermediate - Simple Machines II Two new Lego® Education kits will be introduced, the WeDo™ set and the Simple and Motorized Set. Participants build LEGO models featuring working motorsand sensors, as well as program their models and develop their skills in a wide range of disciplines. Using the simple and motorized sets, participants will build and explore machines and mechanisms, investigate motorized machines, and study gearing mechanisms.
